Across the United States there is a housing crisis, Palm Beach County is no different. The cost of housing has skyrocketed, rents continue to climb towards being the highest in the Nation and many people are being forced to make tough budget choices for their families and themselves. As a Mom, Michelle knows that an affordable place to live is essential to a healthy, functional family.
Michelle is a problem solver, and has record of identifying solutions to complex problems. To help tackle our housing crisis, Michelle is focused on working with County leaders and community organizations on implementing smart policies that increase the availability of workforce and other affordable housing options. This means incentives for building workforce housing as well as identifying ways to utilize County land to help meet this crisis. In addition, Michelle is committed to working with our school district and other local municipalities on partnerships that help address our housing crisis.
Ensuring Palm Beach County remains affordable also requires County leadership to focus on the high cost of rent. Michelle will work to hold slumland lords accountable, ensure renters are living in safe communities, and that those who fall on tough times get the help they need.
Michelle has advocated and supported programs that provide stop-gap funding in the form of one-time payments to help families stay in their homes during times of crisis and financial uncertainty. Michelle knows it is essential to continue and enhance these vital programs.
